1. Moneyball

Moneyball is easily one of the best movies of the year with great plot and powerful performance by Brad Pitt. Its story revolves around revolutionary bit of computer kit and is being billed as to be this year’s The Social Network. It speaks about sabermetrics, or the use of data analysis to place a fiscal value on baseball attributes. It is being compared to The Social Network and it remains to be seen whether it lives up to the expectations. Billy Beane played by Brad Pitt is the general manager of the Oakland A’s and the guy who assembles the team, and is faced with the challenge to outsmart other richer teams on a tight budget. Moneyball has the potential to be one of the top movies of Hollywood and is a movie worth watch.

2. 30 Minutes Or Less

Sometimes the best movies are the ones you least expect to love and for many that is exactly what will happen with 30 Minutes or Less. Even if you think this is not your type of movies, you should still see it because it is likely to surprise you. It seems like the kind of movie only teenagers will like but you will definitely laugh at the craziness. Nick is the kind of kid who really doesn’t seem to have much going for him and it will come to no surprise that he is miserable in his pizza delivery job. And things just get worse when he is kidnapped by a pair of fools and has a bomb strapped to his chest that will kill him unless he robs a bank. So what does he do? He turns to his friends of course! If you see this movie you will be sure to put it on your top movies list.

3 . In time 

There have been a lot of great movies come out this year but this is one of the best movies and you should make sure that you haven’t missed it. It takes place in the future when money is no longer the main currency -- time is! People only are given 25 years of life but they can get more or they can lose time, too. Time is the main currency by which people pay for both their necessities and their luxuries. In our world, rich people have lots of money but in this world rich people can live forever. There are legitimate ways to earn time and then there are they ways to earn time that are not so legal and they can get you in a lot of trouble. This movie has some great acting talent and lots of action so you’ll likely put it on your top 10 movies list!

4. Drive 

Drive is one of best movies of recent times thanks to the excellent performance by Ryan Gosling. The film had aroused a lot of expectations and has been able to live up to its billing of being one of the top movies today. The film’s remarkable cinematography enthralls the audience in the proceedings. There is a number of adrenaline pumping car chases shot in the movie. The movie also beautifully represents the Los Angeles skyline and the sprawling lights of the city. Overall we can say that Drive is a movie which would be appreciated by a lot of audiences. Ryan Gosling needs to be applauded for another excellent performance in the movie. Director Refn needs appreciation for the great photography and the powerful script which always keeps the audience on their toes as they are never sure what will happen next.

5. A Good Old Fashioned Orgy

A Good Old Fashioned Orgy is the story of Eric, played by Jason Sudeikis who is well known amongst his friends for his wild themed parties at his Father’s beach house. Eric’s father decides to put the beach house on the market and he decides to have one last party with his friends at the beach house. This is one of the best movies of recent times and is getting great reviews. The only problems for Eric were to convince his friends to join in the party and tackling the agent who attempted to sell the house even before the party could start. A Good Old Fashioned Orgy is a must watch and easily one of the top movies I have watched in a long time.

6. Warrior

Warrior is a wonderful combat sports movie with a right balance of drama and action. It is one of the best movies in the combat sports category. It is an intense movie with a great storyline making it one of the top movies of recent times. The storyline of the movie revolves around the world of mixed martial arts. Warrior is about Tom Conlon (Tom Hardy), Brendan (Joel Edgerton), and Paddy (Nick Nolte), who are family members that have become estranged and who come to face each other in a new international tournament “Sparta.” Warrior is one of those few sports movies which has the right blend of drama and action. You should watch this movie for its adrenaline pumping action and great drama.

7. Killer Elite

Killer Elite is a story of a group of professional mercenaries that have been fooled into doing someone else’s dirty work. The film has to be one of the best movies to have released in the recent times. The film starts with a hit which had gone horribly wrong. When Danny (Jason Statham) finds a kid trapped in the middle of all the bloodshed and bullets he feels guilty about his choice to kill people for a living. He leaves his partner Hunter (Robert De Niro) and retires to Australia. But soon the story takes a twist and Danny learns that Hunter is being held captive and he needs to save him. Killer Elite is one of the top movies I have ever watched and would highly recommend it for its great story and powerful performances from Jason Statham and Robert De Niro.

8. Contagion

Steven Soderbergh’s Contagion is one of the best movies I have ever seen. Many believe that it is a remake of the movie Outbreak (1994) but it deserves accolades for the realistic depiction of world as a global village where lack of cooperation is much more serious threat than other problems. It has to be categorized among the top movies for its powerful representation of fears of apocalypse by displaying them in common ways. Contagion would be appreciated by anyone who believes that the world is a global village and there should be cooperation between nations and people from all part of the world. It has a powerful message to communicate and inspire everyone to work together against all threats to our world and make it a better place.

9. The Tree Of Life

Brad Pitt is in some of the best movies of all time, and The Tree Of Life is no different, which also stars Sean Penn and Jessica Chastain. This movie follows a young boy’s life in the Midwest, as he remembers it as an adult. He loses his youngest brother, and his innocence, at the same time. His parents have two different outlooks on life and are constantly contending for his allegiance. Jack finds himself as an adult with a lost soul.

In addition, he must learn about the things that cannot be changed and about all the miracles in the world. Jack learns to forgive his father and start his own life. This drama is on the top movies list for good reason it captures your heart.

10. Apollo 18

There are a number of great movies lined up for release this year. Apollo 18 is a wonderful movie to have released recently. Apollo 18 is a science fiction and fantasy movie directed by Trevor Cawood. It is one of the best movies of the year and is written by Brian Miller (XXI) and Cory Goodman. Apollo 18 easily ranks among the top movies to have released in recent times. If you like things related to space this is a must watch as it is a space themed movie. The story is about two US astronauts who are on a secret mission. They are not too optimistic about their mission’s success but they discover footage from the abandoned Apollo 18 mission. This is a thrilling movie which is certain to enthrall viewers.
